Language Exchange Osaka is a place to speak English or Japanese whilst having fun. People from all over the world join are being part of this community every week.
Before Redesign
The outdated look of the website brings the impression of an amateur event. In fact, it was a popular community but the website look wasn’t very attractive and made the community look small.
New User Interface
The website was redesigned with a modern look and less formal to attract more young visitors. Bright photos were shown on the website to describe how fun and friendly the community was.
Regardless of how popular this community was, it wasn’t easy for new people to join through the website. Users were required to do an extra step just to find basic information such as location. Lack of imagery on the website brought an image of “unfriendly” that may cause people hesitant to come.
Before Redesign
Time & place was a separate page and it only has some texts on it. There was no access information and the Google Map link. People would likely to leave the site without bothering to look for how to get there.
New User Interface
Time & place information is moved to the homepage so users can see it right away. “Join Now” button is placed to encourage users to join the event. This would increase the chance for them to come by up to 80%.
Before Redesign
The benefit of the community wasn’t placed on the homepage. This information was crucial to be placed on the first page. More than 30% of visitors may have left the site before they read it.
New User Interface
The brief description of the benefit is now visible on the homepage. An action button “More Info” is placed to encourage users to read the detail.

Testimony was a separate page with a very few contents in it.
New User Interface
People’s testimony is now visible on the footer of every page so people can read it everywhere on the site. This can bring more trust and able to encourage users to join the event.
